I got this email today. Though it’s great that they reached out to me, I have some issues.

1st, they spelled my name wrong. Instantly they are on my bad side.
2nd, grammar. I don’t claim to be great at grammar, but even I know that I am not “an excellent of social media insight and knowledge.”
3rd, thanks for letting me know I can spam my friends with an all caps hashtag to earn $50.

Dude – free chips!
Haha – couldn’t resist :)
Don’t they give you free chips anyway? And if you wanted free chips (and better food), why wouldn’t you just go to any Mexican place? Speaking of, I want Pancho Villa now.
How’d they get your email?
Have you forwarded the email to Chili’s marketing team? They probably aren’t aware of the English language failures being sent out in their name.
I did forward it on, and asked them to address how they obtained my email. I also told them I would love to introduce them to some Minneapolis based companies that would better represent their brand.
Nice job on hinting about local brand representation. It would be interesting if they reply. Even more interesting if you would be able to post the reply.
I wanted to know about the point Randy pointed out – don’t most places like that give you free chips and salsa anyway? WOOO ORIGINALITY.
Randy is right, most places do offer free chips to all customers. Chili’s doesn’t as far as I know. So this saves you $3.65 or something if I remember correctly. Yeah, it’s not original at all, and definitely not going to get a food snob like me in the door. I was ignoring Randy’s comment until after 5:00, I really want a margarita now.
Their proof reader must be Sarah Palin.
Someone who ends their message with “Best,” would get an instant transfer to my bad side as well.
I did get a response from the president of the marketing company responsible for this campaign. It was a genuine response and addressed everything they could address. I won’t post it as I don’t feel it will add to the discussion. I may post my response to him sometime next week.
