Ummm, Pizza, Yeah That Will Work

So to sate your hunger for more Conner generated content, here’s a couple of photos of a pizza I made yesterday.

Spinach, onions, garlic, rainbow chard, mushrooms, homemade ricotta, and mozzarella cheese. It was pretty good, though the chard didn’t cook as well as I thought it would. Also, I discovered The Wedge carries their own pizza sauce, which is better than the canned stuff I had been buying, so that was a win.

I promise I’ll start writing again someday soon, I’m just really busy at work and bouncing around outside of work like a ball of flubber

Where, What, When 6:10

After a week off, I’m posting this late in the day. Still, at least it is going up, so that’s a win.

This one might be very easy for some of you. I kind of chose it because I like the photo, not because it’s difficult.

Happy guessing all.

Friday Five 2/5/2010 Edition

It’s Friday today, which is good because I woke up yesterday thinking it was Friday. That was disappointing. I had a hard time deciding what to post today, a lot of stuff in the reader, but here goes, the standard wacky and disconnected collection of posts from the last week or so.

So that’s that, have a wonderful weekend, avoid the roads whenever possible, and if you see me out and about yell my name loudly so I can buy you a beer.

Where, When, What 4.10

This will be the first post in the series that deviates from the question of Where? Today’s post is a when, and it might even be considered slightly cruel. Let me know when this photo was taken.

Good luck!

Art Sleds

Saturday I went to the annual art sled rally at Powderhorn park. I arrived about an hour late so I missed some of the excitement, apparently there was a Santa sled. Still I had a good time, got some sunshine, only lost two toes, and managed to avoid falling while walking down the sledding hill. Here is a slide show of the photos I took. Here is a link to the set.

Formspring Questions 1/25/2010

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

I have no idea, I always end up biting. But if I had to guess, I think it’s somewhere around 37.5 licks.

If you started a new blog, what would the topic be?

Well first I should say that I have tried and failed to start many new blogs. Usually it’s an attempt to have a place to write about technology, or politics, or some other topic I convince myself doesn’t belong at my main site. But I generally end up just coming back to Conner’s Blog.

I think if I was going to start a new blog it would be about food. Restaurant reviews, recipes, photography, and other tidbits. Maybe someday I will actually make it happen.

Where would you most like to take photographs? by briannepitt

This is another tough one, there are just too many choices. In the USA I have to say Glacier National Park gets my vote. Of course the fact that I’ve been there a few times kind of sways my vote, I’m sure in two years I will have found at least 2-3 other places I would love to spend time taking photos.
Worldwide, I would have to say the Andes seem like a fantastic place to take photos. I think I would travel to Peru or Argentina if I was going somewhere just to take photos.

If you magically became a chef, which one restaurant in the Twin Cities would you want to chef at?

Wow, this is a tough one. My first instinct is to go for something like La Belle Vie, Vincent, or 2021. After thinking about it for a bit though I think I’m going to have to say Brasa would be my choice.
Part of it is my love of their food, but mainly it’s because I truly enjoying cooking that belly warming comfort food that Brasa makes. I’m not opposed to lighter fare, but when I’m looking for something I know I am going to be happy with, Brasa is definitely in my top two or three places.

Ask me anything.

Friday Five 1/15/10 Edition

Before I get to the links, I want to ask you to take a minute to donate to the cause in Haiti. There are a ton of charities out there. By far the easiest way to donate is to text “Haiti” to 90999 on your cell phone. This will donate $10 which will be added to your cell phone bill. You can also donate at Give.mn today and they will match your donation. Thanks!

Now on to more entertaining stuff. Today I give you the usual collection of links. Don’t worry, I personally guarantee they are all worth at least a little bit of your precious time.

  • A uplifting letter written by Iggy Pop shows up on “Letters of Note” (language)
  • A fantastic photo of some daring guys on a Chicago roof top
  • The Heavy Table promotes my anti-cold philosophy; Natural vitamin C.
  • Minnpics has a fantastic photo of a thresher. It remind me of home since I had one of these in my backyard growing up.
  • Stuff about Minneapolis shares a great story of true Minnesota nice.

Enjoy your weekend, get outside and soak up this weather before we return to normal. I will see you all back here next week.

Winter has finally arrived, and I’m going back almost to the beginnings of Friday Five. The top result of five Flickr searches.

We also have a bonus photo which I saw in one of the searches that intrigued me.

Have a great weekend everyone. Don’t let the cold weather get you down, there is always something going on that will keep your spirits up.

Dog Park

Saturday was crazy busy.  Nicky, Ninja, and I spent a good chunk of time at the dog park next to MCTC, and took a ton of photos.  So here are a few to help you start your Monday off on the right foot.

You can find other photos from the day on Flickr.

Friday Five 10/23/09 Edition

If I do nothing else for anyone today, at least I can make my readers smile.  Here are five links that will make your day better, guaranteed.  If they fail to make you smile I respectfully argue that you aren’t human and therefore aren’t included in my guarantee.

Happy Friday everyone, enjoy the weekend, and I promise to punch Mother Nature in the nose if she doesn’t give us at least some sunshine.
